September 2023

Our AGM was held at 12:30 on Thursday 21st September 2023 at Peel Golf Club.

In the year to March 2023 we had made 809 journeys and welcomed 94 new clients to Care in Mann.  We have 39 active drivers and 14 telephonists.

It is felt that the call for the service we provide is as strong as ever and all volunteers were thanked for their hard work.

This year’s Christmas lunch will again be held at Peel Golf Club.

September 2022

Our AGM was held at 12:00 on Friday 16th September 2022 at St John’s Mill.

The Chairman gave his report and thanked all the volunteers for their assistance during the year.  We currently have 32 drivers and 11 telephonists – some drivers have not returned to us after the Covid, so others have taken on more lifts.  We still provide a very useful service to the community.

The Christmas lunch was planned to be held at Peel Golf Club this year.

September 2021

Our AGM was held at 12:00 on Friday 24th September 2021 at Tynwald Mills, St John’s and 27 members attended.

The chairman gave his report which sadly included the Island going into several lockdowns due to the Corona virus outbreaks. During these lockdowns, some of our volunteers kept in touch with our clients both with personal phone calls and through social media.

Even with the lockdowns, we still provided over 460 journeys for some of our clients. The Christmas lunch was held in December at Tnywald Mills and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone present.

September 2020

Our AGM was held at 12:10 on Friday 18th September 2020 at Tynwald Mills, St John’s and 21 members attended.

The chairman gave his report which included figures indicating that 1,420 trips were undertaken during the year. He also stated that in March, due to the corona virus outbreak, we had to reluctantly suspend our activities in order to protect our volunteers, as well as our clients. We are now slowly getting back to what is being called “the new normal” and hope more of our 55 volunteers will feel able to re-join us.

After several years as secretary, Diana Collister feels it advisable to reduce her workload and has therefore stepped down as secretary, but will continue on the Board. Jan Rae was proposed as a new director and secretary, this being approved by all present. All other returning directors were approved.

March 2020

As he and his family have relocated to the UK, Mr Derek Legg resigned as Director and Chairman. We wish them well in their new move.

Mr Peter Brackpool was then elected as a Director and Chairman to replace Derek.
