We provide transport to healthcare appointments for those in need either because they do not have transportation of their own or because they cannot access the ambulance service.
We cannot undertake regular or long term requests, or jobs which require specialist medical or first aid provision, or clients who need ambulance equipment.
As our volunteer drivers use their own vehicles they cannot transport wheelchairs, or large walkers, and clients must have sufficient mobility to enable them to get in and out of the car unaided. It is usually possible to obtain the use of a wheelchair at Noble’s Hospital, but the client should be able to get in and out of a car with minimal assistance.
